Futher testing

by ant_x - 5/30/07 4:35 PM In reply to: Take it back. by callancool

Seems everything works fine! tested the vocie recordning function.....excellent! and also beginning to understand the album-function.......seems to work....but the known issue that, the songs plays in alphabethic order instead of their order in album, is still a bit annoying =).

Matsui Not Working

by bens4manutd - 8/7/07 4:47 AM In reply to: Help by tristan_m

Hi, I bought a matsui 4gb version which works, but after 2 days it stopped working. What happens is that all the navigation works but when you play a song, it doesn't work and the time (of the song) goes random and the whole the song name goes blank but you can still get to the menu. Help!!

Matsui not working

by gonzo_the_ great - 8/22/07 2:24 AM In reply to: Matsui Not Working by bens4manutd

Similar problem I think. My daughter's 2 Gb player had a couple of albums plus the sixty free tracks on it, but problems with getting it to play all the tracks. (I posted a message about this before) Anyway we decided to clear the decks so we deleted all the files using Windows Explorer, but after deleting them the player still listed them as there, although you couldn't play them. I tried "Delete all files" on the menu system but nothing happened.
So I reloaded three albums, about forty tracks, all in mp3 format, disconnecting, switching on, and reconnecting after each one. Two problems firstly the menus still show the tracks that were deleted, and secondly nothing plays. The menus are all there, you can select a track, but it won't play.

Help please!

not updating the music library

by woofy1231 - 8/30/07 5:06 AM In reply to: Matsui Not Working by bens4manutd

i had a similar problem once, where i updated the music, but it still didnt update it, soit thought songs were there that had been deleted etc. managed to fix it by yanking the battery out, it forces it to check the disc etc, then rebuild the library...sometimes.

Insert the matsui drive and format with quick format (use utility downloaded)... that set .. it will be ready to use.

Matsui working again!

by gonzo_the_ great - 8/30/07 7:07 AM In reply to: i think i got this one 2 by spideyman

Hi again. Not sure if this is being posted in the right place, this thread is getting very difficult to navigate (!), but this is a followup to my posting "Matsui not Working" Briefly, I had deleted files and reinstalled new ones, but the old ones still showed up on the menu and the new ones wouldn't play. Useless in other words.

The good news is that I ran the updater following the instructions in an earlier post, it reformatted the drive, reinstalled the software, and it's working again! Sweet!

The only files I needed were in the Matsui120MR file/folder which others here are offering in zip or rar format.

1) Download the .rar or zip file
2) Extract the folder (Programs)
3) Connect you mp3 Player to your usb socket
3) Browse to the folder and run the .exe (stupdaterapp.exe)
4) Click Start and let the program run (unfortunately you'll have to allow formating of the player)
5) Wait until the bar on the right reads Completed

Thanks again to asifiqbalkhokhar for the files and the instructions repeated above.

One solution to internal updating message

by Benjamiin - 6/20/07 10:21 AM In reply to: Problem with folders in my Matsui MAT 120MR 2GB (SINGTEL) by larral

At first i had the same problem and took it back for a new one, then to test i put smaller amounts on at a time, try only putting 20 songs on each time before disconnecting and allowing the player update then re-connect and add more and repeat. This clearly takes along time.. but its a cheap player so what do you expect.

Album track ordered fix

by devs2007 - 6/20/07 2:20 PM In reply to: Problem with folders in my Matsui MAT 120MR 2GB (SINGTEL) by larral

I found a way to make the tracks play in album order and not alphabetically on this device. In Windows, right click on the first music file, click Properties, then click the Summary tab and add 01 to tracks title, 02 to the next etc etc. Bit of a pain if you have 500+ tracks to rename in this way, but it works.

Mine works superb now, as it was a birthday gift from my little one I did not really want to change it. So HUGE THANKS asifiqbalkhokhar.

Take it Back

by glendvd - 9/28/07 5:32 AM In reply to: what can i do? by viper0512

May I suggest to anybody who has the 2gb matsui mp3 player from curry's, take it back, don't get another matsui one, they don't work, stop wasting your time trying to fix it and get this one. For an extra 3 quid you can get the creative zen stone. Admittedly it's only 1gb but it works like a dream, and the sound is absolutely mind blowing. I tried only for 3 days to fix my matsui and knew if i exchanged it for another one it would just do the same thing. There are hundreds of posts on here complaining about them, so just do what i did and exchange it. The matsui mp3 player is rubbish, it has so many faults with it i don't know where to start. When you buy an mp3 player you shouldn't have to be messing with "firmware" and downloading stuff to make it work. The Creative Zen Stone is brilliant, just buy that one. I know from my experience with the matsui and the stone, so take my word for it.
