I have had a Motorola cell phone for about two years now it does what i want it to ie:- make phone calls and send texts so why should i change it. I don't need anything else from a phone.
I see no possible way that Apple can be earning first place in the poll. The most obvious reason being that they just produced their first phone! It's more expensive than most others, you have to pay an additional $60 - $100 per month to use the thing and you MUST use ATT as your carrier or the phone won't work at all. Other than this poll, I've seen a lot more negative info posted about it than positive.
Now for some info that can be taken seriously....
I've owned Nokia, Motorola and LG phones. My Nokia was great at the time that I owned it but the service I currently use doesn't offer much in the way of Nokia phones. My first Motorla was terrific but the second one I owned was a Razr and it doesn't hold a charge for more than 10 hours or so. I was not impressed with it. I've owned 2 LGs and I loved both so LG gets my loyalty.
...your cutesey little screen name and profile.
One word: RELIABILITY.
This poll is a perfect illustration of how stupid people in our world are today.
You can't be loyal to apple, they have had only ONE phone...
I am also 100% positive that 58% of the people polled do not own an IPHONE!!!
This isn't a poll about do you like the ipod, its a poll about have you bought a number of phones from apple.
Which nobody has!
Idiotic poll.
Idiotic people.
I agree with you. I was writing my own post while this one was posted. After reading it, it is exactly what i wrote except in different words.
I was reading the entire thread, when I came across your reply, and all I can say is "Bravissimo!"
One product CAN NOT a loyal customer base make, especially with all of the other brands and THEIR models out there.
I will parrot your closing:
Idiotic poll,
Idiotic people.
Now for my money, LG will always stand head and shoulders above the rest, oftentimes they are the first out with a RELIABLE implementation of a new feature set, and the reliabiltiy in all of the LG phones I have ever owned has been outstanding. (I've had Nokia, Motorola, LG, Radio Shack (the old classic stuff)) Verizon is also the best cellular carrier around, (I've had Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Cingular (the WORST of all of them, BTW) and T-Mobile.) and AT&T is as pathetic as any of the others. Their coverage is horrendous, their network speeds leave MUCH to be desired, support (in the past) has been spotty at best...
Now, if anyone cares I'm'a go stuff an iPhone in some poor AT&T customer's nether-regions, since that's where AT&T is gonna make sure it ends up anyway! I'll just help them out, or beat them to the punch... Whichever.
Forget Steve Jobs and his iGeneration! He and Bill gates will rot in hell at the right and left hands of Satan! They are both nothing more than Simon Barsinister made flesh, AFAIAC, them and their desire to take over the world! iThis, iThat... GAWD, PLEASE STOP!!! Nah, you guys KEEP your iPhone, and every other Apple branded toy. Steve isn't getting my money.
Sorry, I got a little carried away, there...
There is no real competition when it comes to cell phones. Either you just make calls or you have an all-in-one. If you want to do more than make calls, HTC is the only real choice. Although Apple makes very good products, they have far too little market share and use proprietary methods. Check out the HTC website and you'll find a selection of devices that do whatever you want. I have a 2 year old S200 that does everything the iPhone does but without proprietary hinders. Except the silly swipe creen. The 2GB memory card (I have a few) holds enough to satisfy a hungry media lover.
If you want something better than an iPhone, and not be locked to one carrier, look no farther than the HTC Touch. Again, no restrictions and no Apple/Cingular activation/locking.
HTC has many devices thqat are better than the iPhone or any of the garbage that the US carriers try to force on consumers.
Definately HTC
The 8525 whips the Iphone's ass.
I don't understand why more than 50% of the population, according to the vote, is loyal to Apple.
They haven't demonstrated anything yet. Their ONLY cellphone has been out for a mere 5 days only. How could someone be loyal to a business that just started manufacturing this product line? They demonstrated, according to the news that they can hype people up, but their cellphone hasn't been up for the real world challenge yet. Common people get your senses together and think for a second.
And to add more to this, I am 100% sure that most people who voted APPLE don't even own the Iphone themselves. Ironic.
For a very different reason I have to give credit to Motorola. Returning home one night last summer I told my boyfriend he better go online to look for a new phone - then handed him his old one - which had been thoroughly washed and dried in a commercial laundry.
For the heck of it he put it on the charger, but the screen remained blank - as expected. The next morning he tried turning it on . . . and the darn thing worked again. It shut itself down automatically when the water got to it in the washing machine.
He used it without problem for a few more months when the contract came up for renewal and he upgraded to a newer model.
Originally he had a Motorola and I had a Nokia - his Motorola not only had a consistently better signal, but my Nokia liked to seek out roaming towers so our bill was always registering roaming calls from home areas and every month we had to fight Alltel and have the charges removed. (We have had consistently good service with Alltel)Now we have a National Plan (we live full time in our RV and travel the country Workamping), so it will not be an issue anymore.
Right now we're in the Pocanos and our Motorola phones get better signals over any other brand.
i don't see the need for people to be able to contact me 24/7. i want to see it in print so i can revue the content and have something to refer to in retrospect. people seem to forget what they say or change it to they never said that. if it is in print they can run but they can't hide.

We all know how loyal Apple people are. We all know how the envious, broke little MS drones like to attack the MAC people and Apple products (they can't afford them). It's clearly obvious to anyone with an open mind and any intelligence that the Apple iphone is the best smartphone to have ever to graced a sweaty little palm. Mine has worked perfectly since Friday when I set it up (took all of ten minuets). I have sent emails, surfed on edge and wifi, loaded music, done podcasts and videos, sent photos, text'd and of course made and received calls. No problems. Is the iphone perfect? Well no. Few things made by man are. Are there things that can be improved? Off course and I'm sure Apple and AT&T are working those issues Remember this is Apple's version One phone. If it's this good on the first try what will their phones be like by version Five? Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Palm, Blackberry, Compaq and others have had 15 years to build a phone this good. Where are those phones? If my iphone keeps working as well as it has been these last few days then Apple will have my loyalty.
PS; Windows mobile/explorer sucks, That's one reason why Bill Gates owns a new iphone. That's the rumor from the inside. That and they are studying the iphone in their labs to see what makes it tick, so they can come out with their own copycat clone device, the iphone killer "iWinTalk"! So start saving your money MS faithful.
Iphone isn't a smart phone.
The phone has to be smart, to be a smart phone.
Not idiotic.
Why is a basic model LG the only way to go? 1. Because it was totally free when signing up with AT&T. 2. Because you can drop it repeatedly on the sidewalk and it still works!
