Ok, I love you guys. I listen everyday and usually enjoy the shows, however I'm sick of the iphone stories. You are spending 6 to 8 minutes of each show talking about one device. THAT IS A PODCAST all by itself. Just clip those stories out, create a new file, put it in the same feed, I suggest the name iphonedaily. I can then delete said file and listen to 30 minutes of real news instead.
Really guys, please I know I'm just one person and in the end one person doesn't have much say about anything, but I could care less about the iphone period.
I don't think there's much harm in doing that at least for the next 2 weeks.
It could be like "Daily iPhone Update". I like it, I'd listen, but maybe after I listen to BOL. And don't worry about tip-toeing around the iPhone in the regular podcast - if it's a valid related point, I understand if you'd mention it.

I am not really sure what the problem is. BOL is about covering tech news, the iPhone is tech news. Sooner then later it will fade back and not the the headline, but when a technology news is making headlines in the mainstream then it seems that BOL will cover it as well. As TMV say if you don't want to hear it fast forward.
it is indeed a great solution which I sometimes use.
I must admit though - because I enjoy hearing the banter of TMV soo much, I'll listen to them talk about nearly anything - it's worth a little pain if there is any, ya know? I'm glad I didn't fast forward yesterday - I woulda missed V vs. T entertaining effort of trying to understand each other regarding iPhone "activation".
I was just giving some credit to the iPhone podcast solution as well.

Just give it a few days until the launch of the iPhone, then another week for the ensuing obligatory possible launch glitch and praise or bash talk. The whole thing will be over until next year when they announce the 2nd Gen iPhones with 3G capability already in use in other parts of the world and digital tv tuner. =P
iPhone is the 'hot' gadget of the month. It's actually been the hot gadget of several years, depending on how you look at it. But as it becomes available to everyone: perhaps prices and of course the hype comes down: the iPhone won't deserve it's own podcast.
If every hyped gadget got its own podcast: we'd have CrankyMacbookOwners: Wii Break Weekly, RAZR Out Loud, and so on...I'm not very creative with those

I agree that you need to stop talking about the iPhone. The only people that care about this device are the Apple fanboys and fangirls who lack the intelligence to see how bad Apple products are.
How about not discussing technology altogether?
They could ignore all the technological advances that Apple has offered, they can also do that for every other company that comes out with a consumer product that even regular people are interested in.
When people point out Apple, Sony, Microsoft, Google, et al., they get all anxious because they come out with brilliant ideas that somehow doesn't appeal to their general hatred of well thought out consumer products.
BOL is about technology and the iPhone is the hottest topic right now, creating a different podcast file because people don't agree with the product is ridiculous. If that happenned, every listener who doesn't like every other consumer product company would want a very hyped up product not discussed thus alienating the people who want to listen to how the product is progressing, bad and good.
Be more objective, stop whining, learn to ignore, and move on to what you want to hear if it bothers you.
I wasn't clear in my original post, I would just want an iphone podcast for the next week or two. I realize it is hard to gauge when any subject is covered too much, but I think we can all agree the hype is high for the iphone.
I too just fast forward through it although the last day or two Tom hasn't been giving us the number of minutes to cruise past. That made it very easy to move the slider over and keep listening.
I think my bais also comes from the fact that it is a cell phone. I'm of the belief that one should have a cell phone and then the other device that does everything else, and listening to everyone get all geared up for a cell phone just seems like a waste of time. In BOL's defense it is technology and they should cover it.
Yes you're right, the iPhone it technology and this is a tech podcast, but that doesn't mean the iPhone needs to lead off every Podcast, be in the show's title every other day, and take up a majority of the show.
I realize they don't control the news, but they do control the editorial content and presentation of the news. Paris Hilton going to jail was news, but that doesn't mean you need to spend the majority of your newscast devoted to Hilton coverage. The same goes with the iPhone, put it towards the latter part of the podcast - especially when Veronica's doing a daily videocast already.
It just seems there are a lot of good tech news stories that are being shortchanged due to the iPhone Kool-aide party.
I get my podcasts through a SAT feed. Everyday I am alloted only 30 Mins usage. There are anywhere from 35 to 50 people onboard and SAT links are expensive. So you have to be quick in what you want to do.
There is even a economy. If you are not going to use your min's. You can trade for them. Stupid things, like your dessert, a pack of smokes and the like. So if I am going to trade my dessert to get all my podcasts to listen to on my off hours, I want to hear more then news about the IPhone. Cause Idon't Want.
So Veronica, fro the sake of my Dinner. Please make a seperate Podcast about the IPhone.
I agree entirely. I don't see how one device deserves this level of coverage. Each day, another story is covered and it's not even news. It's become tiresome and it makes me want to unsubscribe.
I am so sick of the iPhone! I was sick of it the day it was announced. Now I just hate it more and more! Enough already...
I think there should be a separate podcast for cell phone talk, period. There is way to much on this technology-based podcast. When did cell phones become the domain of computer experts?
Now I get that a cell phone is essentially a computer, and I'm happy to hear when an amazing new technology comes out in this area, as I would with a new computer-based technology in cars, home appliances, cameras, etc.
But so much of this podcast seem to be about every new model of every cell phone out there. "This one's coming out in brown", "this one now has a toggle button", "this one now has a bigger screen", "this one now has cool ringtones", "this one now has unlimited text messaging".
Come on! Do people really care that much about cell phones to take so much of a tech podcast? I still just use mine to make phone calls.
