-- 401GB to 600GB (One hard drive or multiple?)
An old 40 gig for backup, a 160 gig primary drive split into 2 partitions, one for programs one for files ie. music and digital pictures.
A new 250 gig USB external added when I decided I needed more space to back up than my old 40 gig gave me and using multi DVD and CDs was too labor intensive.
Total 451gig + a 2 gig jump drive (anyone remember when we had 2 5 1/4" floppies to do it all???)
Most important thing is to remember to back up routinely using the drive space!

I have 80GB internal drive that came with my pc, and I added a 2nd internal hard drive with 160Gb, for a total of 240GB.
two 120GB HD's partitioned into (aprox):
Disk 0
20GB for WinXP and programs
15GB for media (no video)
15GB for documents
65GB for Ghost Images
(all 4 partitions are 75%+)
yeah, I know, I need a bigger HD
Disk 1
3GB Pagefile
10GB sandbox
102GB Acronis Secure Zone
One drive.
I have less than 40GB. how do i get some of that TB.
480GB in two
Internal HD 60MB
External 400MB and 500MB
Box1 240GB sata (XP)
80GB sata (Vista) "why,I don't know"
Box2 160GB sata
LapT 160GB ata
I have in my desktop
one 80GB sata disk(system)
Twoo internal 160GB sata disk (data)
one internal 250GB sata disk (data)
one internal 160BG ide disk (data)
one external 160GB usb drive (backup system & critical data)
Simple.Click on my computer. All drives will the there.Click on any drive it will show how much free and how much used.If interested to know more ,then on that particular drive ,click properties,it will not only tell you the exact space in graphics also it will give option for disk clean up or compress.
I have two 160GB maxtor SATA drives in raid 0
I then have a 250GB IDE drive and 2x 250GB external USB drives.
So i have 1070GB, and from time to time i have even filled it up!
to be Sensible though I would recommend that 250gb is enough for anyone in a single drive and then it is best to partition. USB drives sometimes take a moment to initialise and anything more than 0.5 seconds is annoying to me. The ammount of space I actually need if i was to back things up properly is less than half of what i have, and just to keep all my games and applications stored and functioning is probably less than 150gb.
in my laptop i have 100gb
but I also have an external hardrive 320gb
1 80 GB (Core, Windows XP/Vista)
1 320 GB (VmWare and Variants)
1 250 GB (Installations and Media)
1 500 GB (Backup,Mirroring and GHOST)
total = 1.150 TB

Internal:
80G with Windows XP Pro and an some other partitions
120G with soft and some data partitions
160G (2x80G) in Raid 0 only data (mainly video)
or 360G
external:
80 G 2"5 with Firewire connection(and USB2 capability)
250G 3"5 with USB2 connection
60G in a Vosonic VP6210 device(USB2): portable (with rechargeable battery) datatank (photo, video, MP3,..) with 2" color screen and cardreader
or 390G
and in total 750 G.
I can connect 2 harddisks of 80 GB on my computer, that makes 160 GB.
But my computer is a little bit defect and works everytimes at low speed. So I can use only 40 GB in practise.
When the big harddrives are getting older they are loosing power over the years.
