Can I use Photoshop Elements 3.0 with Windows Vista Home Prm

by tech_fantatic - 6/20/07 11:49 AM

When I bought my new laptop the main reason was for my photo editing. My old laptop was getting a little too old for the job. Before buying I checked with HP to make sure I could use my Photoshop Elements program and they said there would be no problem.

I installed the program a few days ago and everything seemed to work fine. I started using it and I noticed that there are a lot of problems. I can still use it, but there is a lot of annoying things that come along with it. For example, if I drag a picture dots and lines will go all over the screen where ever the picture was. Colored bars just randomly appear on the screen, etc. So, I can use it, but it makes things a lot more difficult.

I was chatting with HP and they said that Adobe has an update available for version 5.0 but not for mine. I usually have a hard time comprehending updates and things, so I don't know what I am doing. Is there any way that I can use my version 3.0 on Vista? I was kind of hoping to update to Photoshop next rather than having to buy another version of Elements, I'm still trying to figure it out :-)

And just one other note, I just want to make sure that everyone knows this is Photoshop Elements not just Photoshop. Seems to be a lot of confusion when I ask questions about elements.

Thanks everyone!

http://www.adobe.com/products/psprelements/

"Windows Vista update — NOW AVAILABLE

Want to run Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 plus Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 on Windows Vista?

Download the free update"

I leave it to you to figure what "Premiere" is here.

Hi Natalie,

I have today gone out and bought elements 5 :-(..."3" is not compatible with Vista...there are many utilities that are not,and some are only just catching up or producing plug ins to rectify this situation.Unfortunately it is in manufacturers economic interest not to enable old programmes to have plug ins created so people have to go out and buy the latest version....

Elements 3 only has a lug in to update it to Windows XP and not Vista
