Hi Everyone. In the last week or so, Firefox 2 has been extremely slow and freezing up whenever I surf various sites (Most noticeably on Personalized Google Home/GMail) and even when scrolling down on a site it "freezes" for abit as if it's loading more info (This happens on bothe me and my fiance's accounts on XP Pro). I have tried various things to correct this but I am stumped! Has anyone else ran into this have a possible solution? Could this be a problem w/ Firefox, my router, Comcast Cable or the Modem, Windows, Panda Firewall, Memory shortage, etc.? Any tweaks in FF2 I could tryThanks in advance!!!
Here's my computer info:
Firefox 2 w. Ext- Customize Google, Stumbleupon, IE Tab, Tab Mix Plus,Print Preview, Blue Ice Theme(cleaned private info, cache, etc.), Have Java 6 Update 1, Comcast Cable (7 Mbps), Windows XP w/ SP2 (Windows Firewall disabled, have run error check, Disk Cleaner, Defrag, Panda 2007 (Firewall allows Firefox as Outbound (Client)), I do have a router (seems all is OK, only have a Nintendo Wii attached with it), Dell 4700 w/ 250 GB storage (plenty of free space), 2 GB RAM, Have used CCleaner, Spybot, Panda's Scan and Adaware recently.
I was going to suggest cleaning cookies but you have ccleaner.
Do you have this issue if you use another browser?
This could be an issue with "whenever I surf various sites"
Try AVG ANTI SPYWARE

I have same problem,I been having it for a long time, well a month or so.
Just tonight I was watching pink floyd live on google video.I stayed there for 3 songs, which by the way is great video,it is 1hr and 25 min long.If I stay anywhere very long when I click on a different link I get the problem loading page. Then I have to unplug my cable box then plug it back in to renew my address. This is getting aggravating.I have xp pro MCEdition 2005,Ccleaner,2007 Adaware plus,Trend micro 2007 pc-illian,avg 7.5 scanner, spywareblaster.I scan daily with one or the other.I never get over 30mb of internet cache or tempory pages in Ie7 combined because they are set low and I run Ccleaner every 4 or so days.So I am clean and free of clutter I believe anyway. So I don't know what to do.I been using Ie7 more lately,it's been faster and working better but I would rather use ff.I don't know what to do?
Mark
I've been the same situation like you guys have but after I've install Firetune and use it to make it faster my Firefox seems to work fine for me.
