So while skeptical leaving Verizon to go to Cingular, I think it's fantastic that they let you test a phone for up to 30 days, and return it if it does not meet your needs. I'm waiting for the 8300 or the 8820(would love to know when exactly it'll be out, am hearing Q3 but nothing more). Anybody know how many times you can use this trial, I was told by a cingular rep that I could use it however many times I wanted, but find that hard to believe. I'm thinking of testing the blackjack, and then a pearl to hold me over a month or two. Anybody have any information on this process? Itd be much appreciated. thanks!
Hey, i work for Cingular as a Customer Service Rep over the phone. i have worked with them for quite a while and i knoe my policies and stuff very well. i will check on it for sure at work tomorrow but i don't believe our policy actually has a part where it says exactly how many times a customer can use the 30 buyers remorse period. ill check on it and get back to you.
thanks alot man, I really appreciate that. Your info would be greatly appreciated, because I hear many different things, my Verizon service is being cancelled June 2nd so I can't afford to go without a phone, so the 30 day trial would be great until the one I want comes out.
Im sure you heard the news by now, but the Official release date for the curve is tomorrow May 31st. But if that means it will be on ATT site or in stores I am not sure, but for sure the Curve will be released tomorrow. If you get it, let me know how you like it. I want the curve but everyone I know is on verizon, so it looks like I may be getting the 8830 today...
They do allow you to cancel your contract within the 30 days and get your money back for the phone. They do however have activation fees, and if you do not return the phones within the first THREE days of activation they do not give back the activation fees.
So I can test out a phone for up to 30 days and return it with a refund, however the activation fees will apply non-refundable after three days of usage without being returned? If I'm misunderstanding please correct me. I will take a look at the Curve for sure...I was looking forward to the 8820 with wi-fi but I'll be sure to give a review if I get the Curve...I'll check my local cingular store by the end of this week. Hopefully the gentleman from Cingular can give me an update on if he checked or not as well. Thanks again guys.
I looked up the policy at work today and it actually depends on the reason of the return. if it is a phone issue you can do it as many times as you need to. however, if it is just because you don't like the phone you can only make the exchange once. you will have to pay the activation fee but we have been known over the phone to credit it back if your nice about it.
. but you will also have to pay for the prorated amount of service you have used as well.
Thank you for being so helpful and for getting me the information I needed. Much appreciated.
Cingular shill?
Verizon is the carrier that offers the REAL 30-day trial, where they credit you back for pretty much everything if you don't like the service and return the phone. This is a matter of written policy, not "well if we like you and you kiss our *ss, you *might* get a credit on some of the fees" situation.
They are also the first major US carrier ever to pro-rate the early termination fee if you cancel before your contract term is up. They also have by far the highest customer loyalty statistics in the industry.
Do the research...
