I just got a new computer. Now my problem is I have to transfer all my firefox bookmarks and password manager data to my new computer. I have been using my old computer for over 3 years. So i have hundreds of book marks and I am totally dependent on password manager to =remeber all my passwords. By the way, I was running Firefox 2.0.3 on a Windows XP. My new computer is also Windows XP ( cause I hated vista).
CAn anyone please help me transfer these bookmarks and password manager files??
Open Mozilla Firefox
click on bookmarks
click on Organize bookmarks
click on file
click on export
and save them where you want them. Put this on a CD or flash drive.
Then do this
Open Mozilla Firefox
click on bookmarks
click on Organize bookmarks
click on file
click on import, locate the file you just saved and they'll all go back on.
Rick
thanks
i was able to transfer the bookmarks
i am still googling for my password solution
On the old computer, open C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Application Data
Application Data is a hidden folder, so you'll need to enable hidden file and folder displaying. Then you just copy the Mozilla folder to the same location on the new computer. Overwrite anything that's there if it's a new profile. When you start Firefox again, all of your settings, extensions, bookmarks, etc, should be just as they were.
