by SapulpaBoy - 5/15/07 8:48 PMI have a Samsung YP-U2JQB/XAA 2GB player. After 4 months of near perfect use, it is no longer connecting to my system. I have XP Home SP2, running MPv10. When I connect it, I get a msg to "not disconnect", then it either goes dead, or it says the usb is not connected and is charging.
I've read some of the previous threads and nothing works. The Firmware updater cannot find it, the MP10 file pack from Samsung is not compatible with XP (even though it's supposed to be for it). I booted in Safe Mode and it shows up a new hardware but cannot install drivers. Rebooted normal, deleted drivers and re-installed... the systems says something went wrong with installing the drivers. When I try to use the disk that came with the thing, it says everythings ok!
Someone... PLEASE HELP ME!!! :I
Did you recently install WMP 11 or IE7.

After several months of it working fine, I now get "Don't Disconnect" when I plug the unit into my USB port. I've tried re-applying the firmware (with a format), uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, etc. If you plug it in, push play, and perform a reset (like you do when you're about to update firmware), you can at least get it to charge.

I think what screwed things up (heavy on the think) was the update on the Runtime for ver11 from MS. Anyway, I finally got it to work. I held the pwr/play button for about 20 sec, hit the reset while STILL holding play, plugged it in the PC, still held the button until it was recognized then let go. I had to rollback Media Player to version 9, update to 10, reinstall the drivers and now it works. I was able to update the firmware. I'm getting ready to update to version 11 on Media Player. I'll let everyone know if I have problems again.
*Note: Do not try to install the Media Player 10 driver update from Samsung. It will start to write the files, then stop saying its not compatible with Media Player. It screwed up so much stuff that it was the reason why I had to go all the way back to Version 9!
