Personally i would be happy with the inspiron, but i would love to hear your opinions.
The second if in the US states. My dad has a prior model similar to the one you presented.
All great choices and should play games well but suffer by not hitting over 2 hours of battery time due to the game and display sizes.
Bob
select the Asus but I love the higher resolution screens.
ill be going to canada, so ill probably be getting the asus, it's light, will play the games i want to play at max settings, and has best battery life.
Country to country. You find that all but a few makers promptly won't talk to you unless you are in the country that you bought the machine. So be very careful that your warranty expectations are met.
Bob
There warranty is a 2-year global warranty, no matter who you buy it from. So i dont think it matters with ASUS
First off I would not recommend the dell, as I have mentioned several time here that I am not impressed with the build quality of the dells compared to their competition. That said however, it would probably be the best for games: geforce 7900 with what I'm guessing is a 5400rpm HDD
The Toshiba has the 7900 but the 4200rpm HDD might slow some of the more intense games down a bit, and its worth noting that it also has the most HDD capacity
The ASUS on the other hand seems to be good all around. Its going to more portable(15 inch screen), 5400rpm HDD(assuming), high resolution screen and what is still a good graphics card. It also comes with a mouse and backpack which are two things you would have to buy with the other two.
So if all you care about is gaming than I would suggest the dell or toshiba and you just have to decide between HDD capacity and (In my opinion) better quality with toshiba or performance with dell.
But if you want an all around good laptop that you can still travel with, go with the ASUS
good reviews, good portablity, good battery, good screen, free mouse and backpack... yea i wont have a Go 7900 GS, but now thinking about it, i am going to need a laptop i can take around with me because i'm a student first and a gamer second.
Plus the ASUS has a free 2 year global warranty, which would cost roughly $200 extra with a dell or toshiba from best buy.
P.S. and to think i stumbled upon the G1 yesterday, it stole my heart.
have you checked out the Asus A8Js? It has the same video card as the g1, except that it's smaller (14.1 inch screen) and cheaper: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3313&review=Asus+A8Js
Also, if you can wait a few weeks, you might want to check out the new g1 refresh, rumored to have the new 8600m gt video card.
not interested in a smaller laptop, i at first wanted a 17", it was hard enough moving to a 15", plus i like the 2g of ram in the G1, but i am intereseted in this new G1, where can i get infor about it?
im guessing it will be better for the same price?
