LG8600 Making your MP3's your Ringtone, help!??

by OliviaNicole - 4/8/07 6:26 AM

Recently when i was at Alltel buying my LG8600, I also purchused a memory and music bundle that came with headphones, a memory card reader and 512mb memory card. The man that helped me said that I would be able to download my own MP3's from iTunes and use those as ringtones on my phone. I have been able to get the MP3s from my computer to my phone, and can listen to the songs on the phone's MP3 player, but I can't figure out how to make those my ringtone. Can anyone help me?

Download Bitpim, then upload the songs you want, you will be able to create mp3 ringtones from there by editing the mp3 then saving it. AFterwards just transfer the file to your phone.

I meant download Audacity, you can create ringtones on that, then transfer the tones you created by using Bitpim.

other Audio editors & Where's Bitpim?

by GroovDiva - 4/13/07 7:02 PM In reply to: Sorry wrong program by kalbo08

Although I'm familiar with Audacity, I find Adobe & ProTools easier to use. Can either of these work with Bitpim? Also, where is Bitpim found?

I've been unable to make ringtones with bitpim. It doesn't recognize the songs on cds as audio files. If I change it to read all files it sees the songs but will not convert them. Should I be using another program to make the ringtones? Thanks for your help.

ringtones with windows movie maker

by chikachic817 - 5/28/07 10:54 AM In reply to: Making ringtones with Windows Movie Maker by kgdray

after you open windows media maker, on the left hand side under Capture Video, click on "import audio or music" and browse your computer for the song you want to use to make the ringtone. I think the song has to be in mp3 or wma format in order to use it to make the ringtone. After it is imported drag it down into the "Audio/Music" storyboard. From there you cut the song down to whatever part of the song you want to use as the ringtone (if you need help doing that, go to the Help under the Contents tab, click Windows Movie Maker, then click on Using WIndows Movie Maker and then click on editing clips). After you have made the ringtone, click on save to my computer and follow the prompts. Hope this helps.

Alltel's Memory & Music Bundle

by lcarclai - 5/20/07 4:48 PM In reply to: LG8600 Making your MP3's your Ringtone, help!?? by OliviaNicole

i cannot figure out how to transfer music to the equipment we got from Alltel. The "memory card" states it is 512mb but the "chip" states that it is an adapter. we sync and it completes but we pull and place the chip in the phone and it says "no songs found in memory card"?????? how did you get yours to transfer? we have formatted as MP3 but can't get the phone to read the "card"
