Defrag Windows XP

by srvctec - 4/23/07 10:06 AM

Have been reading a few posts about defragging in Windows XP. Do I really have turn off Windows Defender and Avast and screensaver etc and use Safe Mode. I've never done it before and defrag worked OK but now I'm getting worried. And how do I turn off Defender and Avast anyway?

No you do not have to turn them off...

unless you are having problems running it.

You will get a more complete defrag by doing so but even that is not completely necessary.

As the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

I agree with Edward

If the defrag is completing OK you will not have to do anything else.
