Hey does anyone know how to get a sony ercisson k790a in the U.S. and to get it to work with some of the carriers such as t-mobile, verizon, cingular because i currently have a sidekick 3 and ive had it since it came out but i honestly i have been disappointed with that phone and im leaning towards getting a sony ericsson phone because they tend to be stylish and to have a very nice screen/display. thanks.
I like this phone. It was a good upgrade from the W810 that i used.
You can get this phone at a Sony Style store usually in a Mall. If not, you can google for this phone. Amazon has this phone.
Just make sure that when you buy the phone that it is Unlocked and that it is the K790a, not the K790i. The K790a has both bands, 850/1900 that work in the US. Since you are with tmo, just pop in your sim card from your Sk, and put it in the SE phone and it will work. Since you mentioned it, i just want to let you know that the SE phone wont work with verizon, but will work with tmo and cingular.
Hope this helps...fyi, going rate for this phone unlocked is $380 - $500 give or take a few dollars.
What do you like better about the K790 over the w810?
The K790a is "marketed" as more of a camera phone then anything else. It is the 3.2mp camera that I like. Plus it has the mp3 player and of course it does the phone thing.
The W810 is "marketed" as a walkman braned phone so MP3's are its main feature, followed by the 2.0mp camera then the phone thing.
But overall both phones worked for me. I was just happier with a little upgrade with the k790a.
Ah, that makes sense. I am curious what the diffrence is between the "walkman" and the regular music player on the 800i. seems like a marketing ploy to me.
