I Can't decide which model is better amongst Canon Powershot 570IS and Powershot A710IS.
I am surprised because both models are available at the same price. Can anyone suggest which model is good in technical aspects?
Thanks in advance
Picture quality the same (excellent).
The A710 has more optical zoom (6X as opposed to 4X on the A570)
There is a slight penalty for more zoom.
Shutter lag will be a bit more.
(0.2 second for the A570 and 0.4 second for the A710)
Other than that.......toss a coin.
You can't lose.
Here is the comparison of specifications:

Close call as the 570 is a good upgrade to the A550 (with the addition of IS). From the professional reviews, that's also too close to call but the 570 is being called out for poor pics (due to noise) at the higher ISO's.
The professional reviews are so close and so are the features of both cameras that you'd be happy with either.
One significant advantage of the 570is is that is has a faster shutter, f2.6 vs f2.8 on the 710is. In fact, most digital cameras today max out at f2.8, so the 570's bump to f2.6 gives it an advantage over almost all others.
The optical zoom is not quite as high, but if I had to choose between a faster aperture and 2x zoom difference, I'd take the aperture advantage everyday. It is much more useful in more shots than the extra zoom would be.
Also, the 570is has the newer DigicIII processor compared to the 710is using the older DigicII. The main differences are the face detection, better noise reduction, and improved power management.
The only real advantage the 710 has is the zoom. The 570 has more significant advantages in my opinion.
I have also seen people complaining about the plastic looks of 710IS. 510IS has better metallic looks.
Is it just the look or does it also give it more durability over 710IS?
