Smart phones and a Mac?

by Januss331 - 4/14/07 3:44 PM

Hi all, I've got a question: I'm looking for a Smart phone that works (and works well) with a Mac. I'm on Verizon Wireless right now and don't want to change as I've been consistently disappointed with their service. I'm looking at phones that are available now and phones that will be available (if any are out there that are coming soon worth waiting for).

Any thoughts? Also, where's a good site to get information on these up and coming phones, or ones that are out. Again, I'm specifically looking for phones that are compatable with Verizon and a Mac.

If you are looking at something else, tell.

Alright, that lets me pretty much use anything...so much for the Mac Connectivity, what about recommendations on a smart phone on Verizon?

I'd suggest the Treo running Windows Mobile for your mac.
Dont' worry, they wont kill eachother fighting.
But get a wifi SD card and memory chip with it as well.

I assume you want something that syncs with notes, outlook, and everything else that is pretty much what smart phones are used for.

The blackberry, while nice, will not really feed the mac user that wants to carry songs, vids, and other things in 1 deal.

If you are in an office environment that provides a blackberry server and you need almost garanteed email uptime more then features, get the blackberry then.

Well...

I'm probably going to try out that MarkSpace thing for these smartphones. I hate Outlook and I use iCal and a generic physical planner-so I'd want it to sync with that. I'll mostly be working with emails as well as the calendar. I don't really care too much about media, I've got my iPod for music and photos if I really want to look at them outside my computer.

Basically, I'm looking for just one device to replace my phone and planner that I can sync with the Mac (using the MarkSpace program).

treo 700p

I am an avid mac user and use the palm treo 700p (sprint version) and I have had no troubles. I would assume the same is true for the verizon phone but can't really comment seeing how mine is sprint. Hope this helps

Treo vs Blackberry

So then, Treo vs a Blackberry. I've seen and read the reviews, just kinda stuck now.
