Grounding your recever!

Does grounding your recever help? And what kind of wire should i use? Recever yamaha rxv-1500.

I have the same model, nice !! You talking about the antenna ground or the ' main' ground by the optic inputs?

For antenna: yes if the the antenna is outside the house

Main ground: I don't see any info in the manuel but for the rear panel diagram. I have other electronics that have a ground besides the plug. In their manuel's they say to use the ground IF the ground for the plug is bad.

Hope you have it hook-up to a surge protector, some surge protectors have a light indicator to tell you if the plug is properly grounded.

If modern home wiring, receptacle ground should be decent.

And, yes the surge protecdtor is essential insurance. I add to that, my hearty recommendation for units beyond the 20 buck cheapie that does protect valuable PCs, but I've compared the difference between what I 1st had available to use, but wasn't initially satisfied with new TV picture. Get one specifically labeled for A/V purposes. Others may very well add staticy artifacts as interference.
