Easiest Headset to get on/off

by theconsultant - 4/3/07 9:27 AM

I rarely make/take phones in my car, I'm not one of these people that needs their cell phone connected to their ear every waking minute. I'm more into listening to music. As a result, I'm not going to drive around listening to music with a headset constantly in my ear. I bought the highest rated headset I could find a year or so ago - Jabra BT250. However I found that when a call came in, I was really fumbling trying to get it on my ear quickly.

Now I know the best solution is to fork out the bucks for a hands free system that interfaces to my car stereo with a remove mic. But the point it, I don't need hands free ability often enough to justify the $400 or so cost of the equipment plus install.

Is there a headset out there that works well that is really easy to get on and off your ear? I don't care if I look like someone from Star Trek, I'm not going to be wearing it walking around the street.

the one that i like and use is the nokia BH-800. the wrap around is a thing piece of metal. I just slip it off and on just like i would do my sunglasses. It is kind of on the high end price wise, but well worth it. it is small and lite and very comfortable. But like i said, it is very easy to take off or put on IMO. Hope this helps.

These days you really no longer have to spend that much out of your pocket to get the best for the value. Some of industry best are Nokia, Motorola and Sony Ericsson. From my experience, I would personally recommend you go for a headset same brand as your phone preferably. This way you ensure that the manufacturer will provide you phone support in case you get stuck with the technology or setup as they usually sell the line well we are not able to provide support since technically you are using a product from a different manufacturer than your phone. I have been using a Motorola H700, this thing http://www.netfreez.com/products/Motorola_H700_Bluetooth_Wireless_Headset-3719-0.html

It has several hours of talk time and pretty stylish look. And once the little mic in front closes, it turns of. If you open it, it goes back up and syncs with your device. Save battery.

Than again, I don't know your setup or what you really want to get out of this!?
