I do photo restorations, and use a resolution of 2560 x 1600. Images on my monitor are awesome! I have ATI Radeon X 1900 XTX 512MB graphics card.

I've been using a Viewsonic 17" TFT LCD monitor (VP171b) since 3 years. Never had any problems with it; came bundled with Pivot software to view spreadsheets in landscape mode. Well worth the relatively higher price for similar sized monitors.

Gateway FPD2485W

And what can I say, it makes a WONDERFUL TV, not just a excellent PC screen to look at, but it surpasses my old Magnavox 27" LCD which has very poor SD content performance. Sure up close you can see some "errors" in the pictures, but if you sit back at a normal TV watching position (3-4ft) you can't see them and it looks just as good as mid range tube TV.

HD content is out of this world and its a real 1900x1200 HD 1080i by the way, no ED LCD monitor here!

I got a sweet deal on (2) Compaq CV735 15" monitors 3 years ago when I worked at a technology store. They have been, and still are working great.

Main Monitor

22" X2gen LCD; it replaced a 21" Sony CRT which I loved and had for many years. The LCD is unbelievably brighter; the specs are 1000:1 contrast. 500 cd/m2 brightness, 1680 x 1050 resolution, & 5 ms response. So far (1 month), so good.

What size monitor?

by oma - 3/29/07 3:06 PM In reply to: What size monitor do you have for your main computer? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Samsung SyncMaster 191Tplus. Have it since it came out and no problems sofar. The monitor can be moved 90 degrees in either direction, great for typing long letters or reading long articles.

Great!!

Main Computer Monitor

I have a Balance Digital Technology LCD monitor on my computer. I am less inclined to watch movies on my computer even though I have a TV Capture Card installed. I guess my eyes prefer a larger screen say around 27" or larger.

CRT Trinitron

by tomasodea - 3/29/07 4:45 PM In reply to: What size monitor do you have for your main computer? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I have a rather large, bulky 19 inch Dell Trinitron that my son purchased for me for $10.00 at a university "bargain barn". What a great buy!! I love it. I use AutoCAD and SolidWorks and the size of the screen and the resolution are wonderful.
