AppleTV - Who Ordered One?

Just curious who wants one despite nasty rumors that say consumers would not spend the money on this type of device.
I know I've been dying to have something to bring the content from my iTunes or iPod to the TV for years now. Way to go Apple!

We just added our 4th Tivo to the house and 2 new computers so how do I convince her I need this. Then in the fall I want the Microsoft server. So does anyone have any idea how to sneek this one by her. I mean it is not like she is not a geek also.

by Alegoo92 - 3/15/07 1:56 PM In reply to: AppleTV - Who Ordered One? by brocknationMy family likes movies and tv shows, and my dad does a bunch of crap to watch them together... but he's not very good at it... he makes dvd's of South Park episodes mixed in with Seinfeld or w/e... me and my brothers love House and I love Family Guy/South Park and so on... So since I have a 120 GB external HD im not using, I hooked that up to our family Mac Mini, and we'll stream of that now.

However, if the rumor that you can use it to stream the computer screen on a Mac running Leopard is true, i probably will purchase it along with a Macbook once Leopard is released!!

What I would really like is some close integration with an EyeTV type of product, so that my recordings from TV will be batch processed into the MPEG4 specs that Apple TV prefers. It needs to be a bit more seamless. I really want to use it as a PVR type of box - I think that this sort of solution will come in the next few months from developers.
