Tough decision
I've been looking a long time now for the smaller and lighter notebook possible with decent 3D graphics card.
I needed opinnions from users who have, or at least already tested some.
Found lots of options, but ultimately kept these two:
Dell XPS M1210 and Sony Vaio VGN-SZ series.
Here's some pros and cons from both, to those who are curious:
Dell XPS M1210 (top specs)
Pros:
- Smaller
- Faster processor speed (T7600)
- 4 USB ports
- faster HDD (5400 SATA)
Cons:
- Some reviews says it's "bulky"
- Less HDD space (160Gb)
Sony Vaio VGN-SZ491N/X
Pros:
- Lighter
- Design (prettier)
- hability to switch between integrated graphics card and 3D
- Seems to produce less heat
- Fingerprint reader
- More HDD space (200Gb)
Cons:
- Less USB ports (2 or 3)
- No TV-out
- Expensive (relatively more)
- Lower processor speed (T7400)
- Slower HDD (4200 SATA)
