After reading many a review, I decided to give the M500 a shot. So I purchased one from E-bay, $190, plus I was able to get a 3 year warranty from squaretrade.com. Very cool.
I want to know however, has anyone tried to use an SD card above 1 GB for it? I read in one description that the M500 could use 2 GB cards, but the official descriptions I've read thus far have only been 1 GB. What does that mean for up to 8? What could happen if I tried it? And does anyone have suggestions for buying a good SD card? What's the difference between a kingston and a kingston elite? Which brands are reliable, and do I need a warranty on that too?
Here is a place to start to learn more about the M500:

For compatible SD brands, you should contact Megxon directly:

I contacted the company and they stated the following:
We have test M500 with phast (brand name) 2 G and make sure it can work with it. But we still recommend test any card and make sure it can support with your camera before buy it.
We recommend SanDisk, Panasonic, Toshiba, phast, TwinMOS, PQI and Pretec.
However, I talked to a woman who said that they probably didn't try putting 2 Gb of stuff onto the card, rather just tested the card for compatability. Meaning, the M500 probably can only fill the card up to 1 Gb and no more despite the card's compatability. This isn't proven, but I don't know how much I want to buy and expensive 2 Gb card, and find out I can't use all of it.
ALSO. I contacted each of these companies, and none of them were able to tell me if the M500 was compatable with their card. They said you need to contact the makers of the device to know which cards they can use. Megxon (Tekxson) offered no more information on the subject than what was given above.

I got my M500 from eBay, used. It didn't come with any of the software, which hasn't been a problem for pictures, MP3's, etc. However, I can't seem to load videos on it and the one wire I didn't get was the video-in cable.
Can someone tell me where the videos go and exactly what format/codec to use when making them?
Thanks!
BTW, I love the M500 Digital Box. It's a great camera, for photos and video. It's an awesome MP3 player. It's got a great battery life. The microphone is a bit weak, but it does have an audo-in jack to compensate. Aside from my video dilemma, which is strictly because I bought used, this is a device that's working its way up my Favorite Gadgets list, quickly encroaching on my iPod.
There is a lot of information on the Megxon website.

I've been reading that, but I still can't get it to load/play videos. It looks like it wants to play AVI-MPEG4 videos (with MPEG1 audio), but I don't know if they have to be named with the PIC00000.AVI format or if they get put into image directory.
