O.k... off and on i hear people sing the praises of Linux over any flavor of windows. They love how its innovative and cutting edge and free and free and free. So over the years i've downloaded an iso or two (thank God for broadband) and tried to install it. The latest versions were Mandriva 2007 DVD edition, and OpenSuse DVD Edition. Now my rant is that no matter what or when i try to install linux, i run into problems, either with the graphics card or the network card or something weird going on, but as things matured and i acquired better hard ware, things got better, until now. I can't get past the install menu because i dont have any PS2 anything on my newest computer, a Dell E510. All i have is USB ports for keyboard and mouse and for some odd reason, mandriva and opensuse wont load any usb or keyboard drivers, at all. Anybody have this problem? and if so how do you fix it? Thanks ! and sorry about the long post ;p
But I don't have any odd hardware. My stuff works right off the latest PCLinuxOS distro except a touchpad. But I don't use that so my mouse is just fine.
The install menu item was cleared up on one machine by a bios setting. I guess many will not look at legacy settings in the BIOS. Go figure.

Stay away from usb mouse or keyboard whether your OS is windows or linux!
