I just baught a new computer with windows vista and msn wont load. It comes up with the msg Data Execution Prevention is protecting your computer.
I went into thr DEP settings and tried to add msn into the 'allow' list but it says 'This program cannot run with DEP enabled'
Is there anyway around this?
Ive also had problems playing games, in setup it cant access/read .mpq files or it has data error - CRC
Is this all because of Vista?Anyway around it
Thanks
I also have the same problem with an acer Aspire 5630 notebook, please let me know if you find a solution and I will do the same
Thanks
I have found a post on a nother forum and it was suggested to download MSN version 8.0 (it was 8.1 on my machine that did not work. I removed 8.1 and loaded 8.0 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e010f88f-8574-4562-af6d-48dd23026b9d&DisplayLang=en
This sorted out my problem
Best of luck
My new system with Vista Home Premium installed works well with MSN Live Messenger 8.1. Maybe there is some other issue or conflict... just wondering out loud! ![]()

I have Vista Ultimate and have had no problems running MSN Premium; however, did notice that (I believe) the newest is v. 9.5. May want to do a search, as I did, download newer version. Again, no problems...my problem deals with the wireless.
