Apple singes Vista w/new Mac Ad...

Apple has probably exaggerated the security features with Vista but has done so in a pretty clever way…

If MSFT tried to pull something like this people would condemn them to hell.

Apple just "is cool"
Microsoft is always trying to be cool.

I say - users should be cool themselves and it doesn't whatever they use because coolness starts inside

corny...but the truth is in there... :)

(NT) Cool is discriminatory & nonsensical, always will be.

That's awesome, the best MAC vs. PC ad ever, since it is actually true!

It's annoying to press Allow all the time...

Microsoft "fanboys" actually love this ad...

by cnetter001 - 2/8/07 5:55 PM In reply to: Apple singes Vista w/new Mac Ad... by shawnlin

because it has no hyperbole.

"Apple has probably exaggerated the security features with Vista but has done so in a pretty clever way… "

No it is dead on accurate, which is why it is so funny if you've used vista.

...witty. Vistas security is a little janky with all those alerts.

I've not been a big fan of the ads, but this one is very funny. However, I think it is important to acknowledge that it is exaggerated. There are a lot of alerts when you first start using the OS while you get all your settings in place and install loads of apps, but once you've settled in, there really aren't very many. I've been using it for a few months now and they're nowhere near as pervasive as people make them out to be. That said, it is a little bit janky. And it was much worse back in betas when it would literally pop up when you deleted an icon off your desktop... I mean COME ONE. They did fix that though. :)

I wonder how many people will see that commercial and go "Oh vista's out, maybe I'll go pick that up." Overly secure is something that XP users infected with spy ware might find appealing.
