the zune does support bookmarking, but it does not remember your spot if its not the last one played, (except for video)
The Zune is not a great DAP for podcasts (And bjorncyz said he is a podcast buff). With my iPod, I listen and switch between many different podcast (and Audiobooks) in the car knowing that they will save their position (bookmark). No need to worry about finding the exact position I left off (especially in a car). And when I get home, I can then sync to iTunes and it will copy the same position so I can continue listening on my computer - it's all a seamless experience.
Where is the podcast intergration in Marketplace? Heck where is the podcast in WMP11? 2007 MS!
I am considering buying a craetive zen vision M. I have been trying to find out if it is possible to podcast to a creative zen vision M. On a certain homepage (that I use a lot) I can see that there are some podcast available for free. - Can I put podcast on a creative zen vision M? Do I need to convert podcast before I can use it on a creative zen vision M?
I hope somebody can help me ![]()
Yes, you can put podcast on a creative vision: M. The good thing about podcasts, they are free mp3s, no conversion is needed. Also they do not have any DRM so you can put it on many different players. Creative also have a site where they call podcast (zencast), check it out: http://www.zencast.com/downloads/
Creative Vision: M are good, feature-rich DAPs, and I don't think you will have the same bookmarking problems as a Zune.
I think it's important to ask yourself how you are expecting to use the device, what kind of music collection you have, and how you want to grow you music collection in the future. Just asking which player is better may result in something like a 4x4 enthusiast buyinga toyota camry just because consumer reports says it's the best car. That's a pretty silly example, I realize, but I'm sure you get my point.
What does your current music collection look like? Do you have mostly ripped tracks from CD (from whatever source...), or have you purchased songs online? Do you have mostly WMA files or mp3s? How big is your collection? Do you want to take the WHOLE collection with you at all times? Are you into playlists? Do you plan on purchasing online music in the future? Have you considered a subscription service such as Rhapsody or Napster?
If you have a lot of WMAs in your collection right now, they will all need to be transcoded to transfer to an iPod, so you'll lose a lot of quality there. However, if you have a 50 GB collection, and you really want to take everything with you on a player, then you'll have to get the iPod just for the space. If you'd like to try a subscription service, then you're probably better off with a smaller device such as the Sansa e200R (8 GB) because you can switch out vast amounts of music whenever you want. Also, if you're thinking about subscription, then iPod is out. iPods don't support any subscription service.
Anyway, I hope this helps.
