Hm... Im not sure and very doubtful of this, but on Apple.com, the "Top Sellers" list is as follows:
Apple TV
iPod
iPod Nano
iPod Shuffle
AppleCare
... ...
I find it hard to believe, but has Apple really recieved more pre-orders for Apple TV than for iPods?? Thas crazy. Definately gonna be long delays if true
talk about being really cynical,
to be honest im surprised that Apple TV has hardly any sales.. what with the high price tag and lack of truly innovative functionality.
Also, im afraid i dont understand your "crusty english teacher" comment, but to be honest they have very little to do with the post so... :-/.... try to leave it out
I do love the idea of my macs media streaming right to a nice widescreen, but since all of my iTunes bought items are in a 320x240 they would be terrible to look at on a 52" screen ![]()
Plus, I dont think streaming media wirelessly is all that new. In fact I know it isnt, so I cant say that iTV is innovative.
But... I do want one. And like the person before me said, it doesnt need to be innovative its just the usefulness of having direct-tv-iTunes connectivity that makes it appealing.
Alright, I'll offer an explanation - perhaps with the caveat that I am from London and we have a nastily dry sarcastic and witty sense of humour.
English Public schools are posh, aristocratic single sex places where you pay upwards of £10,000 per year to study. In these schools, the mannerisms of Imperial England still walk the corridors in their lavish tweed jackets. One such example is the ancient Mr. X [I am not naming him] who barks out instructions in his elegant but phlegmatic voice; "Tripathi, shut up and do the essay right now." "Morris, do up your top button."
So, when you referred to Veronica as 'belmont' a lightbulb went off in my nasty, cynical humour centre and thus, the comment which puzzled you.
My apologies for any inconveniences caused.
Sounds sad to learn in England when you put it that way. I used "belmont..." to be sarcastically dark sounding.
