I have a Nokia phone bought in Asia; can I use it in NA with a new SIM card?
I recently bought a Moto V220 while I was in China. Its a GSM phone. When I got back to US I went to the cingular store and had them put in a new SIM chip. It's for their prepaid plan. I thought I liked it at first - not locked into a 2 yr agreement. But it turns out that only the local area works. Roaming is not included and not available with their prepaid plans. So I now plan to have them change the SIM again and add the phone to my family plan. Hope this helps.
I'm in Japan and they use CDMA. If I buy a phone here, will I be able to use it in the U.S.? I think Verizon is the only service in the U.S. that uses CDMA.
Actually, so does Alltel and Sprint.
