Life is too short to try to get familiar with yet another user interface. I do not like the overly-graphic looks of the current trend in user interfaces. For me, at least, words are easier to scan and search (by eye or by softeare) than graphics. IE 7 didn't stay on my PC for more than a few minutes.
I have used Firefox in preference to IE6 for some time and was interested to see how IE7 developed. On the outside it does look reminiscent of Firefox... but Firefox has at least two benefits which I use frequently.
The first is the spell check which works when filling in 'Message Body' posts on web sites like cnet!
Secondly, I love the simple ability to reopen closed tabs that I have accidentally closed or otherwise need to revisit quickly...
I wonder when IE7 will have these facilities?
I agree with the two stuff you mentioned. That's perhaps one of the biggest things missing from IE7 right now, as I type this.
I do, but what other choice is their? Tried them all but nothing works better tha Windows Vista Utlimate Build 5600.

What do I use instead? Firefox of course with several extensions that do all IE7 does and much more - much better.
Since i have windows premium, and love my "explorer"browser. love the big 3-d icons. i downloaded IE 7 (bcause some sites dont work correctly without it. ) but i hate the small icons..i can hardly see them.
I downloaded the IE7 update from MS that went directly over my IE6. It was one of a selection of "critical updates" on their (MS) list. Really not so bad- I like the improved tabs and other little things. One thing I've recently noticed is when I'm in Control Panel and want to click the little "Question Mark" in the upper right corner to get a quick explanation of what something is or means I get, instead, the entire IE help book forcing me to look-up my own answer. So I'm lazy, but I really wanted just the quick 1-2 liner "wat is it?" type answer. I generally use the aol browser for most purposes, but must share the control panel with IE7.
To end this, IE7 hasn't caused me any more headaches than IE6 so it may be an improvement. And I like the tabs.
Hi I had installed ie7 from the microsoft update site and when it installed it was fin for about a week then it started glitching and i had no end of problems with it couldnt open web sites ect, so i reverted back to ie6 fine with no probs. I must say that iwas getting used to ie7 and then considered downloading the version Yahoo offered with there web page which i did and have had no trouble with this installation at all and find the tab system when opening new pages very usfull.......Buddspopoff
First, you have to know, I am IN LOVE with my Yahoo
toolbar, and download it whenever I get a new PC.
Mostly because it gives me one place on the net to
store/access my bookmarks.
SO, imagine my distress when my newly installed IE 7
(from Microsoft site) kept saying that it had to close
and that it was the fault of my Yahoo Toolbar.
So, I reverted to IE 6, thinking I would never evolve
further in the browser world.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear one day,
but a link to a version of IE 7 OPTIMIZED FOR YAHOO!!!
I downloaded it here (Yahoo!)
http://downloads.yahoo.com/internetexplorer/index.php
and now IE7 and my Yahoo toolbar are united in
blissful stability.
And yes, tried foxfire, but after a while it seemed as if some AI thingy was making to many decisions for me and not allowing my to change the software's mind.
IE7 may not rule, but it works great with my Yahoo Toolbar (and you can reset the default Yahoo search to GOOGLE as I have, so you get the best of both worlds.

Love IE7...Hate Yahoo Toolbar...Love your music.....Maggie
Firerfox is the best and this video proves it!!! http://one.revver.com/watch/19542
All I use IE for is a few select Windows updates. I don't need IE7 for that, I'll stick with Firefox 2.0.0.1. Thank you Mr. Gates, but no thanks.
Why should change to IE7 when there is Firefox and it have more capabilities than IE. Also Microsoft warns you that your Software must be genuine and if not forget about installing IE7. I have an old computer bought in a PC Flea market and it hade a copy of Windows which did not fullfilled the Microsoft demands on genuine software and I do not mind if it is or it is not genuine. It waorks and that is all I need . So why mess with IE 7, Firefox is much better than IE.
Not being an IE fan (we used it at work and I never liked it), I used Netscape 7.2 at home. Wanting to keep an open mind to new tech and thinking there might be some nice changes I tried IE6. It was like using AOL. More crap trying to get in and my firewall was constantly busy. Reading that IE7 solved some that, I tried it. Had too many of the same old IE problems.
So, I tried Firefox and quickly realized that wasn't going anywhere. Some nice ideas but needs to back to the drawing board, so I'm back to NS with good speed and no problems.
I'll keep watching. Time will tell.
My family can't seem to get past using another browser other than IE. Plus, my wife's company website only supports IE. So I upgraded for them. I mainly use Firefox and Opera.
