iPhone No 3G

I know another iPhone thread. I assume they are not going with 3G because of battery life. I have a Samsung Blackjack from Cingular and the battery life is terrible when it is on the 3G network. When I change the phone to use the Edge network the battery life more than doubles.

So that might be the reason they are going to stay with the Edge network. Anyone else have a phone that uses the 3G network that has good battery life?
