I heard a lot of people are angry about Wirefly's rebate scam. And I would like to post a summary here so if you are lucky to see this post, you don't get fooled by Wirefly like I did before.
In Conclusion: Don’t purchase phones from Wirefly!
I also purchased 2 cellphones from Wirefly. It came with two steps rebates, one for $30 each, another for $100 (or $75 I don’t remember!) each.
Today I received a letter saying “The combined value of all of your rebate claim submissions exceed what you are eligible for based on your order. All valid rebate amounts on your order have been paid.”.
They have NOT paid me a penny.
I called them 1866-607-9877, and they say they will “Research” this case, and will have a result in TWO to THREE weeks.
This business model is just against honest policy that we are all proud of. They trick you in the first place, and want to fool you as much as possible, and eventually they may say the mail is lost and they are not responsible for it.
I am tired of it.
Thanks,

I am trying to prevent more victims on this cellphone rebate scam made by Wirefly.com. I hope with our voices on the internet and widespread messages to advice people the truth of Wirefly rebates.
Anyone could suggest what other steps we can do to take Wirefly down?
something like:
1. post the message everywhere in the popular website? like CNET (which already done), like consumer reports, etc.
2. If you could help, please post as many message as possible in different websites.
3. sue Wirefly in court
I knew I am late, but it appears to me that Wirefly is continually extensive Advertising everywhere to lure people into their rebate trick/scams. This has been the worst, evil, business practice to me.
We might be able to contribute a little bit to turn things (and the world) better if our voices are heard by majority of people.
Thanks,
a way to educate the public.
If they are going to buy something, do some research first. If no research, then there is nothi ng you can do.

These lawsuits are hilarious. I didn't have a problem getting my rebate, but there is always someone who wants to complain.

There are so many phones that are free without rebates now though.
Just like all those labels on shaving razors and on McDonalds coffee.........caution content might be hot!. LOL!! I still can't believe that lady won money from McDonalds. I wonder which lawyer this guy represents because thats the only guy making money in these lawsuits.....well Wirefly's lawyer probably makes money also.
The dude is just spamming the board. Stop answering his crap so I can stop seeing his repeat post. Probably works for the law firm since those are the only guys who ever get anything out of these deals. I'm waiting for the law that dictates that I have to pay a lawyer to wipe my butt everytime I need to take a dump. Its inevitable. Mommy mommy, the bad man told me to read the instructions. You mean coffee is hot? I shouldn't put it between my legs when I am driving?
Hi, iwanribble:
Please contact me at my personal e-mail address (jdelahay@inphonic.com) with the details of your rebate submission. I'll check it against the info you provided our telephone rep, and do whatever I can to expedite your claim.
I hope I can help,
Jon Delahay

Hi Jon,
It seems to me that your "corporate strategy" is to fool your customers as much as possible, so that you can earn as much as money to please your shareholders (if any). It is quite different than my principle of customer intimacy, to be honest, where I always try to please my customer to gain their respect and loyalty.
I don't wish to change your corporate strategy, but you are able to do that yourself, I hope.
There are people here followed ALL your company's UNRESONABLE ENFORCEMENT of rebate conditions, but your company just ignore and deny the rebates. The first thing I would advice your company is to change this unlawful practice but simply approve your customer's rebate if they followed your artificial and unsually restrictive rebate process.
I have the class action lawsuit documentation ready, and I am willing to help the vast of majority victims of your customers.
Thanks,
it has been 2 months I still have not received my rebate, can you check please Jon ?
posting here will NOT make him respond

You could filed a complaint at BBB (Better Business Bureau) about your cellphone rebate scam. BBB is very good at handling the issue like this. BBB's website is : https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx
You can directly file complains against Inphonic (which is wirefly.com), and select "Cell phone complaint - for cell phone service".
BBB helped me in getting an unauthorized long distance service charge in my local phone bill the other day, they have done outstanding job.
Thanks,
iwanribble, why are you replying to your own posts as if you're two different people? fishy.
i'm always confused by this kind of thing. just send an email to delahay and get your money, man. lots of other people have.
must be getting desperate if competitors are spending their time badmouthing competitors instead of shilling for themselves. Hahahaha.
Whatev.
Wendy you brough up a very good concern, i assure you that i am not with any company nor a competitor in this business. if you want to meet with me send me an email and you can proof it yourself. my email is iwanribble@yahoo.com. i'm just purely a victim customer of wirefly.com, and I don't want people to get into trouble if they have a chance to read the post in the internet. I think that's the power of internet, and we should contribute the the internet community to make people's life better by staying away from troubles.
I also advice people not to buy cellphones with this kind of 180-210 days rebate process which ends up with little or no success.
if wirefly is a trustworthy company, badmouthing is not going to do anything to them.
My only intention was to post as much information as possible to help people out there that have same experience as me with Wirefly.com.
I don't see it fixes the basic problem of the Wirefly rebate scam thing by just sending emal to delahay. People as a customer should not have to do that. It is a logic like "sorry I killed you, file a complaint to me and I will help you.". I am looking for a logic like "you killed me, so I am going to let you down by any mean that I have."
Thanks,
