Anybody know of an open source iTunes?

by kevinor - 1/3/07 7:13 AM

Let me be clear, I know I can download iTunes for free for my windows machine. What I'd like to see is a program that can manage my music library on my PC, and also upload/sync to my old iRiver iHP-120. The player is only 20Gb, and I have about 25Gb of music, so being able to "autofill" my player would be nice.

Take a look at http://ita.sourceforge.net

It's an open source add-in for iTunes that allows you to manage non-iPod MP3 devices. Works good w/ my SanDisk player.

http://www.songbirdnest.com

it's a web browser too built on firefox, open-source. It's still pretty beta, but expect a 1.0 release sometime in the next couple months.

Democracy player is kinda like iTunes. I'm too lazy to find the link, just google it.
