Bypassing Cable Card Slot to use Set Top DVR & On Demand

by GLarry1 - 1/2/07 12:20 PM

Features.

I'm sold on the Pioneer PDP-5070HD, which has the Cable Card slot.
It seems like a waste to not be able to take advantage of Comcast Cable DVR & On Demand features.
Will it work to bypass the Cable Card slot and use the set top box?
Am I wasting money here somewhere?

The cable card slot is a feature that seams to be slowing going away.
The advantages of a DVR greatly out way the small advantage of the cable card slot. John

Are Cable Cards wireless HD cable connections? Or do you still have to connect a cable wire to the Cable Card you insert into your TV?
