....Saw this at Best Buy and I have to say, it blew me away. Clearly bested the 46" Samsung and Sharp Aquos.
60" Panny plasma was nice next to it but the Sony crushed it on detail and brightness.
The I started poking around and I see that the Sony XBR2 has had huge problems reported with "clouding" or "mura." Apparently this refers to an imperfect seal of the backlight allowing light to come through on dark scenes.
Do any of you know anything about this presumed defect in this otherwise amazing set?
And what is the difference between the XBR2 and XBR3???
Al I can tell is the bexel color. But I have to assume there must be more differences I'm not realizing.

Doc,
If you haven't seen this, there's over 2,000 posts on this 80 page thread. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=748779&page=83&pp=30&highlight=kdl46xbr2+clouding Not only are Cnet's and everyone else's user ratings going south, apparently current owners still haven't reached a resolution. I was totally going to pick up the KDL46XBR2 this week, but will have to wait 'til the smoke clears. The ratings on this awesome set keep falling as more and more discover this clouding issue, yet the retailers keep bumping up the price. Locally in Orlando its gone from c. 31 to 34 and then last night to $3609. Good grief, I hope Sony doesn't drop the ball on this... If you hear anything lemme know. I've seen an early production run set on Blu Ray and it's literally unbelievable
