Media Center Configuration

by randomdx - 12/25/06 8:31 AM

I will soon need a new PC and a High Definition TV. My signal source will be a fiber optics telephone line connection. Does it make technical and economic sense to by a Media Center PC and a large (possibly 42 inch) high definition monitor or is there a better way to go?

I would say that you are a gentleman (or lady) of exceptional taste and breeding, as I have done exactly this as a Xmas present to myself! Got
an HP a1477c with AMD Athlon 64x2+4400 2.2gB processer and a 32" (size
does not count!) LCD flatscreen. Running WinXP Pro Media Center 2005 w/
updates. Like it a lot, but Media Center is a little hard to work with.
I'll get it though! I may have to read the instructions!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am almost convinced that this is right for my situation. Like most other technical decisions, I will give it a little more thought before committing to a choice.

Have a great new year.
