With all of this talk about HDMI 1.3 and its ability to support up to 16 bits per color channel( I think thats in the trillions of colors) I was wandering what are the color capabilities of component. I would assume 16.7 million but im not sure. Does any one know?
How many colors does your TV support?
I doubt any one could tell the difference.
Component is analog the quality is almost solely dependent on the the source material and quality of the decoding electronics.
Only HD-DVD/B-Ray DVDs have the bandwidth potential to handle 16bit video. Currently pro video is 10bits. I maybe a few years before any pro gear will handle 16bits. John
