Bought my daughter a SanDisk Sansa e260 mp3 player for xmas. Did not even know that iTunes is protected - until now. No problem, buy music, burn disc as mp3, load it onto the Sansa. BUT - I bought a music video for her and cannot convert it to go onto the Sansa. I've searched online and can only find people saying it cannot be done. Is this true? Then what's the point of buying a non-iPod if you can't use the video feature?
Look to other sources that support your device.
You can load iTunes videos onto as many iPods as you want, but you cannot burn/convert the video to play on other players. It is drm'ed in such a way that you can't - it was probably the only way that the television networks would allow iTunes to carry their programs.
Maybe the manufacturers were thinking you could load your own home-grown videos. Or maybe in the future, more online stores will offer video. I don't know. My only experience with loading videos is with my iPod + iTunes.
You could check out the "Plays for Sure" website to see what services you could use with the Sansa. http://www.playsforsure.com/ The only video service listed, though, is Cinema Now.
Thank you and thanks for the link.
