I just want a phone......
by Jim Hubbard - 12/21/06 6:48 PMI just want a phone. No MP3 player. No low quality cameras. No useless video recording. No cheezy, never-will-be-played games. Just a phone dedicated to making, recieving, recording and logging phone calls that can talk to my PC.
I want a phone that makes making, recieving and logging phone calls an art.
I want a phone that has sound quality so good that I look behind me to make sure the person I am talking to isn't playing some sick joke on me.
I want a phone that is COMPLETELY controllable via voice commands.

They are called smart phones. A good phone to go with is the Nokia N80, N91, Samsung Blackjack (Cingular),and also the E70 are just a few that I would recommend. Those fun features are just part of cell phones these days. Its just up to you to use them.

All of the phones that you mentioned are EXACTLY what is wrong with cellphones today. They are EXACTLY the kind of hybrid crap that I said that I DON'T want.
They waste resources, battery life, weight and size on loads of crap that have NOTHING to do with my purpose for a phone - to make and track phone calls. If I want all of that crap, I'll just use my laptop and a Skype phone.
Here's my personal favor to you.... I will simply consider that you were (a) joking with your post or (b) a little too full of some favorite holiday spirits to know better than to post such obviously wrong suggestions.

My question would be, why would you complain about the way cell phones are made; when there is a cell phone out there that does what you want. If you want a phone that doesnt have all of the fun features, get a Blackberry. I was just giving some advice since it looks like the guy hasn't researched cell phones well.

Do they perform the functions desired? Some do. But they ALL still have crappy cameras and MP3 players and games nobody plays...etc.
They all still waste time, space, money and memory on features that have nothing to do with communications.

I wanted a phone for the car with no contract and no features. A little shopping found those 20 buck phones from tracfone and others without all those features. 99 bucks and the car has a one years phone.
