37" LCD, brightness, help.

by wizwaz3 - 12/22/06 8:36 AM

I recently bought an LCD tv. It has wonderful spec, 500cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast... But for some reason, while watching movies or shows with dark scenes, the picture seems to disappear. Are all LCDs like this or is it just mine? Any remedies, or should I exchange it for a different brand?

Contrast is set a little to high.

Try reducing the contrast just a little bit a time until you get the picture you like. John

I'll try that. I have the contrast at max. I thought if it was set high, it would separate the light and dark pixels better. Still learning. Thanx!
