Looking for the right cell phone--need your help please!

by kameonq - 12/19/06 3:43 PM

I am trying to find the right cell phone but I am having a hard time. What I would like more than anything is a good cell phone, with the ability to use office tools like calendar, tasks, reminders...but not internet browsing.
I have a horrible memory so having a phone that I could program, like a PDA, to remind me of meetings, etc. would be ideal. Any thoughts?

I have two carriers: T-Mobile and Cingular.

I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions! Thank you!

Heres your options...

Alright, your probably wanting a qwerty keyboard cell phone so you can edit your documents. Heres your options;

Samsung Blackjack

Windows Mobile 5.0
Bluetooth 2.0
Windows Media Player 10 Mobile
1.3 MP Cam
Edit documents (excel, word documents etc.), email, Micro SD Slot
2.2" Screen, 65,000 colors
Standby= 11 days

Blackberry Series

Lovingly known as the "Crackberry" for its" you want, it I got it" attitude. Edit documents, check your email, surf the web, all that great stuff. Plus its got the standard calendar/organizer deal. The 8700c has a standby time of 16 days, so It'll last. If you want to get a blackberry with a camera and media player, you could always opt for the sleeker, more hip blackberry pearl. The pearl has a 1.3 mp camera with a 15 hr standby time. The only downside of the pearl is that each button on it has two letters on it and not one, making typing a little tougher. But it has a micro SD expansion slot to make up for it.

Palm Treo 680

Then theres the Treo, another versatile little device. The treo is made by palm (who makes pdas if your not aware) so they know how to organize the pda functions on the phone. It does everything the other phones do plus more, and its pretty easy to use to boot. Plus its got a 12.5 day standby time so It'll stick around for a long time 'till you have to charge it again.

T-Mobile MDA

This one has a 10 day standby time so its a little on the low side, but its not unbearable. It has a full slide out qwerty keyboard with a few shortcut keys to boot. This beauty also has a 1.3 megapixel camera as well. Plus its got windows mobile. It even has wifi which is pretty unique. Of course it has bluetooth and a mini SD slot.

The T-Mobile MDA and the Treo 680 are among the most touted PDA/Cell Phone mixes. In my opinion you should choose between those two.

I could go on and on about these individual phones forever, but I think I've said enough dont you? xD

Wow, thank you SO much for your help!! I am going to go and play with the phones you've mentioned now and see which one "fits" the best. Thank you for taking the time to explain each one--you have no idea how much I appreciate it!

Thanks again!!
