AAC files on the KRZR

by gkulik - 12/11/06 8:13 AM

I have my music collection on a PC running XP encoded as AAC files from iTunes. My wife just got a KRZR and wants to put music on it. I have read the KRZR can play AAC files, but they are not working for me.

I have not connected a USB cable to the phone yet to sync it with my computer. I used an SD card reader and just copied files over from different folders.

Protected AAC

Are the files you're trying to import to your phone from the iTunes store? The phone will not play locked (or protected) AAC files.

AAC does not work

No, they are files ripped from cds with iTunes. From what I have been reading, the Verizon KRZR does not seem to use AAC.

I had the same problem when I first got the phone, as all of my music is in OGG. Your best bet is to just make copies in a different file format for the songs you want on the phone. You could either re-rip them or use a program to convert the file type. If you go with the second option, I'd suggest using SUPER (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html), it been golden for me the few months I've had it.

Cheers, best of luck.
