I have an Acer running WinXP Pro 2002 SP2, Intel, Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz with 1 GB RAM. My IE 6 is not working properly. I cannot hit shift and click a link in Google search results page to open link in a new window. Nothing happens. This worked until recently. I can go to different pages using my favorites but each opens in the active window. I tried installing IE 7 and got the same problem. I uninstalled it and tried the fix for IE 6 on the Microsoft support page but I cannot do method 2 as I have a recovery disc rather than an XP CD. Now I can't view videos on some web sites and I could last week. The problem seems to be escalating. I need to use IE because of my job. Can anyone help me?
But I can't know which you have.

I am using the Google toolbar and the pop up blocker with it.
