Anyone have the i530 Motorola Phone???

by magpie - 6/21/04 8:22 AM

I am thinking switching to this phone. I am in the construction trade and I understand that its built like a tank! My present phone keeps falling out of my tool pouch. Even with the belt clip.

Any advice would be appreciated

I've had a Motorola i530 for about 7 months now. I can agree with many that it is the most durable phone. I also know that the military (certain branches of it) also use this same phone with the GPS in it as well. It is a really wonderful phone. Hope you're not looking for anything fancy though... it's a plane jane phone with just your basics. Allthought I truly love my phone and has went through a lot with me lol, I'm thinking of going to a different phone, just for the simple point that I need applications with my phone as well. However, as I've said, the i530 that I have now has been through a lot! Dropped on the side walk COUNTLESS times, handled my children (unknowingly lol), and I dropped it from my father's roof once. It landed in the drive way (stone) and didn't crack, break the flip part or anything else. But I can advise you... lol, DONT DROP IT IN THE TOILET! lol Otherwise, GREAT PHONE! And just right for construction workers. They use it in a lot of factories as well because of the Direct Connect and the durability. That is also why I chose it. You can't go wrong with the i530, as long as you keep it out of water! Good luck with whatever you choose and best of luck if it's with the i530 as well.

The motorola Nextel I870

I have had the I530 for about 5 months and it is the best phone I have ever had. I you are looking for a durable phone then this is it. The only problem is the screen is small and the phone is very big(or big for today's standards). I like it but theres only 1 reason not to buy it. If you need applications like me(thats why im upgrading to the I870) then dont waste your money on this. Its a great phone so get one.
