...That this should be the news. I keep saying that - and everyone that I know is saying the same thing. I completely understand not doing the podcast, and if you all needed to put it on hold for a while you know everyone would understand.
Take care of yourselves.
I just found out and am deeply saddened. I didn't know him personally but thought he was a close friend because of the majority of reviews he did and the MP3 Insider podcasts. My sincerest condolences to the Kim and CNET family.
Ever since I first heard about the Kim family missing I have followed the news closely. I am devastated that things ended this way. I certainly understand if you needed to stop the podcast. I really liked James's style. He seemed to be just a really good guy. He talked about his family like they were the most important thing in his life. I am sure they were. I am sure they will take a long time to heal, and I am sure Tom Molly & Veronica are just as sad as all of us.
Rest in Peace James, we all miss you.
Deepest condolences from Brazil V.
James will always be in our hearts.
I'll always remember him as a wonderful tech professional and a amazing dad that risked his life to save his family.
James = Unconditional Love.
Go give a good hard hug to someone you hold dear, and take a moment to savor the things we all take for granted. Work will still be there when you're ready to get back to it.
...of course that's easy for me to say since I'm not your boss....
Our thoughts are with you all.

I have never posted to your forum before but I listen to your podcast every single day and appreciate it greatly. You have my deep condolences on the lost of your friend. From what I have read and heard, he was a great person who clearly did everything he possibly could to help his family in a time of crisis - truly heroic.
My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to the Kim extended family as well as his extended CNET Family. Even though I never met James personally, he was a part of my life in every video, review, and podcast he did. He is a tremendous asset to the technology community, which will never be the same after his loss. But more importantly, he is a member of a family, which will never be the same.
I hope the CNET community takes as much time as it needs to recover from this horrible event, and to properly mourn James' tragic death.
My best to everyone involved.
We'll be here when you need to move on. For now, take all the time you need to grieve. We all feel saddened. I send my condolences to his family and friends.
Death is like a passing to a new beginning. When a star dies, its ashes create new stars. This is so much similar to human death. When one dies, they and the ones around them begin a new beginning. A good quote for this time is, "...and all shal be well, and all shal be well," meaning bad things have equil and opposite good things that follow. Newton's Law stater that every action has an equil and opposite reaction, which applies to life as well. Good things are comming ever so close to now. Just wait and they will appear before you seemingly unnoticed untill the last moment. Just wait unt'll that time comes. Take as much time off from work as you wish. We will understand completly. "And all shal be well, and all shal be well."
it's not good that he died, but at least he passed away while trying to help his family.
that takes guts to be walking around out there all alone.
a true hero. there is a special place in heaven for people like him.
i hope the BOL crew and all of CNET (and half the online world) and most importantly, the Kims can get through this.
i got home today and keeep clicking back to see the latest news and i find that he still hasen't been found. then i refresh the page and found the horrible headline.
we will miss you James!
My thoughts are with the Kim daughters and wife, Kati. My thoughts are also with Molly, Tom, V, and the entire crew at cnet as they cope.
I'm sure James would have wanted BOL to continue to talk about video games, restrictive DRM, and cool tech news, which I'm sure will be done when appropriate. The best way to get over this loss is to do whatever it is you do with a renewed passion for the blessing of life.
You all have done far more than I would have expected this week. That you were able to produce a podcast when James was missing says a great deal.
We are all saddened by his loss, and can only imagine what you who knew him well are going through right now.
Dear Molly, Tom and Veronica,
Words seem so futile at a time like this... I seem so inexplicably saddened by the loss of someone I never knew - but would have loved to. My deepest sympathies and condolences. Thank you so much for keeping us informed - and Tom, your touching introduction on CNET TV was all one could ask for at a time like this.
I realise I do not 'know' the three of you, but, weird as it may sound, my thoughts and love are with you. Please extend the same warmth and heartfelt condolences to everyone at CNET.

Take the time you need.
I didn't know James but I have read his reviews and watched him on crave. I'm devastated and really don't know what to do. I have been crying a few times today and the life does not feel so good anymore. This reminds me about my own family and what's really important in life. I don't really want to believe this but who said life should be easy. I feel for James and his family and pray for you all. This is a sad sad sad day for the whole tech-community and we will never forget James! James, a true hero!
Tom, Molly, Veronica,
As Bob said, we'll be here when you get back, and we grieve with you. James' family, and all those who were touched by James, have been, and will continue to be, in our thoughts.
