I suppose we can look at this as another reminder to enjoy the life we have and appreciate our loved ones while they are around.

He is a man who gave his life in an attempt to ensure that his daughters and their mother would survive. There are so few people in the world today who would commit a truly selfless act. Words can not heal the pain of James’ family, but I know they will find comfort in their memories of James and the joy he brought into their lives.
The people at CNET had the rare privilege of working with a true hero. CNET readers had the privilege of benefiting from James' passion. God bless, James Kim.

This isn't a very happy birthday for me anymore...

My most sincere condolences to his family and friends. It is obvious he loved his family dearly and was willing to, and ultimately did, give his life in the hope that his sacrafice may save the lives of his wife and children. May he rest in peace.

The only thing I can think that offers any condolences is that his wife and children are still alive, and he gave everything to make sure they survived.
My condolences to the family and the Cnet staff, especially those that were closest to him. I am sure that M,T,&V are having an especially hard time right now.

I will not second guess his motives, nor spend time pondering what ifs. We all spend a limited time on this Earth, and while his passing is a tragedy, his final act leaves me humbled.
