We are a bunch of Football supporters (nb NOT soccer), that live away from our beloved Football team (Southampton "The Saints").
We use the site to meet up with fellow fans in the area, and arrange tickets and trips to games across England.

Yes, I have had a website for some years hosted by Register.com. www.a1opals.com I use it to give information about Honduran Opals to anyone interested in opals and sell a few opals now and again.
I have enjoyed playing with this site over the years and made a few sales as it helps one understand the workings of the internet and gives one the knowlege to keep up to date so to help other older people tackle the internet on ther own.
By playing with this site and linking to other sites I use it gives me an ability to converse with the younger generation on their level and even help them now and again to amplify their use of the internet as the majority only use the internet for chat or music downloads.
I own a small Internet Cafe so see first hand the problems people have to manage their computer systems.

I showcase my own photos as well as the photos and artwork of others for sale as prints, posters and note cards. We recently added the option of licensing images for both personal and commercial use. I've spent the past few months tweaking some of the behind the scenes 'website stuff' for optimization as well as html cleanup (when I built the site I had no real clue what I was doing). My next task is to implement style sheets, as soon as I figure out how to properly construct them. Our site has grown from offering 24 original images to hosting over 500 images and other types of artwork.

I use a web hosting company called Homestead and pay $224 a year. My website is a non profit organization which will provide on demand transportation to disabled seniors, the elderly and transit dependent individuals. Homestead has a variety of options including graphics, e-commerce etc. I found them easy to use including setting up my pages and great tech support. They encourage you to use the help features. Using a web hosting service gives me the security of knowing my data is backed up and safe from hackers. (I will also back up my pages to my flash drive now that we are talking about it).
Using Norton Internet Security along with Norton System Works protects my home computers which include a desk top and two Wi-Fi laptops.

Its not my website. But its a website where i spent a great deal of my time at. I am one of the major contributors of posting at their site. The site contains deals from all the major online retailers, showing prices that are a lot cheaper than anywhere. If you are thinking of buying a technology item, just check out the prices at this website.

I create simple websites for family / friends that have a business and no website. I do it for free. (However, I do accept payment of a lunch!)
I use Microsoft Publisher 98. I use their templets, add my data and pictures, modify a bit and then click file, publish to web.
MS Pub 2000 is more complicated and creates bigger files (takes longer to open.)
I like to Keep It Simple!! It is SOOO fast and easy. 20 minutes and your done!
I use ICDSoft.com for cheap and reliable hosting. $50 a year for domain registration and hosting. First website is more, I think about $75 for the year.
The more you create, the cheaper the hosting, if you sign up (for free) as a reseller. Sites are never down -- updates post within the hour, usually minutes.
