I have recently purchased a kingston 1GB MicroSD card to use in my t629, the card works great, but any video that I put on it (converted into the correct format, .3gp) will not play, the phone recognizes the video, but when I try to play it, it gives the error message "unsupported media". I know that this is not a problem with the memory card, as all the mp3 files on it play with no problem. Has anybody run into this or does anyone know of a fix for it?
Have you figured out how to fix the problem? I've had the same problem with my phone and was hoping to find out what I'm doing wrong.
Video
MPEG-4 (H.263)10-15 fps Single pass encoding 51(kbps) bit rate
Frame Size 176x144
Audio
AMR ACELP Narrowband 8000Hz Mono
12.2(kbps) bit rate
Hope This Helps,
J4
mp4(aac) format is OK. Using Apecsoft 3GP Flash converter default setting to convert your mp4 video. it is a trial software:
http://www.apecsoft.com
on some of the songs i try to play, it says "unsupported file".
it only happens on certain files, but all my songs are in mp3 format.
does anyone know how to fix this?
when i first got my memory card i went all crazy with the mp3s and found that some of them didnt work. i explored the difference between the working ones and the non working. the working ones were set at 128 Kbps and 44000 Herts. the non working were set higher, like 256 Kbps and they were too large to play. if you convert your mp3s to 128 Kbps and 44000 herts or 32000 herts, they should play correctly. there are plenty of programs on the net that are free to download to modify them. hopefully this helps. if you have any other questions, let me know
I cant transfer any video from my computer to my samsung phone. it has a 1gb chip in it. when i just put the video (format 3gp or mpeg4) onto the flash card directly then put in in my phone it says unsupported media. but yet the multimedia manager wont let me put 3gp or mpeg4 or any video format on my phone!? please help!
I am having the same problem. I've noticed that i've been able to view some downloaded videos, and then not others. I'll be checking around to see if i can figure out what the problem is. I'll let you know if I find anything out. Please do the same for me as well
I also have a 1gb flash card for the samsung t629 and lots of music on it. the problem im having is actually *listening* to the music through headphones. Because the company has a nonstandard headphone jack, i had to get some stupid adapter to let me plug in 2.5mm headphones into the thing, and then buy a Jazra earbud headset to plug into that. The problem im having is that the sound is only channeling through one of the earbuds, as if its a headset and not headphones. Anyone know of ANY way to actually listen to music through headphones on this damn phone? Samsung makes only 1 pair of super crappy uncomfortable earbuds for it, yet they made the headphone jack nonstandard..its so stupid. Anybody have any ideas or success with this? PLEASE let me know..thanks
They have converters to normal headphone jacks for 4 dollars.
I was having the same problem - some of my music files were getting the "Unsupported File" error and would not play, while other music files would play fine. I tried changing the file sizes from 192kbps to 128kbps just in case my phone thought the files were larger than they were... at any rate that didn't work either.
Then I decided to delete all the files on my memory card and just copy them back over and to turn my phone off while i was inserting and taking out the memory card. It worked.
So in short - turn your phone off while you insert the memory card and it should work.
i got videos to work has to be 3gp format
Just got my 629, and can't get videos to work. I tried to mimic the settings posted above, but I haven't found a program that will let me assign those exactly, so I get as close as I can.
Please, will someone who is able to get their videos to work list what software and what settings you are using? I've tried 5 different programs and changing the variable to try to get it right to no avail.
Thanks!
Try using this program called 'SUPER'. The websites is at http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html
The link is at the bottom, or just use this download link: http://www.erightsoft.info/GetFile.php?SUPERsetup.exe
The program is 100% free. It's great video conversion program to and from all formats.
