Hello...
I have a HP dv8000 laptop. When I power my computer, my mouse never works... I need to unplug it, then plug it back in... it then works. Strange!
Once the mouse is working, if I "restart" my system, the mouse continures to work just fine. But if I turn it off, and turn it back on, I have the same problem with no mouse working until I unplug & plug back in! Anyone have some tips?
...swapping in a known "good" mouse to see if the mouse is the culprit? Borrow one and see if it fixes the issue.
Hope this helps.

hi, thanks... i swapped mice and it has the same problem. Any other suggestions?
If so, I found a troubleshooting procedure on the HP website that you might want to try:

Hope this helps,
Paul
Thanks Paul... I'll give it a shot this afternoon... hopefully it works!
