I have some very basic questions. My Z's Nano player I just purchased off Ebay and does it all from Music,FM Radio, Video, Movies to Address and Phone Book.
All I am interested in right now is downloading some music and Pictures. But first things first. I was unaware that you could charge your players using USB port. Ok Now my question? Do I have to have the player off to charge (not like a cell phone) and how long does it take? I had mine plugged into the USB port but was on and never charged all night. Now It flashes low battery then shuts down. Help I am being defeated by this little player. Oh yes I did download some music when I first got it as there was a little battery power in it. It downloaded just fine. It came with the USB cable that connects to the player. Please send help. Lori
I must say I've never heard of "Z's Nano" before, so I ran a web search and only came up with a single match...another auction. As far as I can tell the "Z's Nano" is not made by a company, but instead one by one by an unknown individual in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Thus, there would be no warranty, no technical support, and no detailed information about the MP3 player.
Now, the ability to charge using a USB port depends on the device itself, something nothing is known about and to which no guarantees are made. Assuming it supports the ability and is plugged directly into a USB port (not using a USB hub unless it is powered externally), the length of time depends on the unit as well.
In short, nothing can be said about a device that's not (to my knowledge) officially produced. The best I can suggest is use the AC adapter and contact the seller for more information.
Hope it works out.

I am aware that the player was unknown manafacture, This player had a internal Litium battery and came with the usb cable.I was just not aware that you could charge them on your computer. I did contact the seller (which responded to me in a very remarkable speed) He told me what to try and when it didnt work properly he had me send it back. They benched checked it and emailed me a message in less than a day of them getting it and said yes there was a lose port where the usb cord plugged in that was not making good contact. He apporgized and is sending me a new one immmediately. Maybe it had no warranty but the person selling these seems to be honest and responsible. That is more than I can say about some big companys. While I did have a charge on the unit I will say it made the IPod Nano look like nothing. Even a sales clerk at circuit city was impressed with it when I had it in the store looking for a wall charger.
I have read under recent spyware horror stories that this "Z Nano" infected a user's computer with a lethal spyware bug called w32@RontokBro. Whether or not this paticular player has this spyware could mean the difference between the life and death of your computer, as well as any connected in a network. It infects nearly every part of your computer and blocks most efforts to remove it. Symantec has, however, identified a way to destroy this nasty little bug with, hopefully, minimum system damage, if done correctly. Since this deals with the system registry, any mistake do contain the potential to destroy valuable system files. Some of the signs of an infection are greatly decreased system speed and disallowing .exe files to run, opening My Documents instead. Detailed instructions for removal are found here: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2005-092311-2608-99&tabid=3. The spyware horror story can be found here: http://www.download.com/Spyware-Horror-Stories/1200-2023_4-5166195.html. I would be very careful in the use of this player, as the potential system consequences could be dire and unreversable.
