hi, I have been using ie7 beta2 for months. Sadly, like; IE7BETA3-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe & IE7RC1-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe the new ‘1st full’ release of; IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe stops my printer software working; HP Director (shipped with psc2115). Beta 2 is the only release of ie7 that doesn't interfere with my HP software. Obviously Microsoft still have some bugs to iron out.
I DO NOT like the new internet explorer. It's too slow changing from site to site and won't let me view pictures because I can't view them at all.
I used IE7 for only a few minutes and went back to IE6 because IE7 would not let me save the pages that I wanted. Thank you.
Yes, I recently downloaded Explorer 7 but now want to go back to 6. I haven't noticed a big difference in the configuration but ''I'm an old hat''. Liked it the way it was. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get my IE6 back and also my restore options to work.
IE6 was more ''user friendly'' and easy to navigate. I do not like close tab, etc. Also, it integrates my search engine information or toolbar with it - don't want it.
How is Window's Vista going to be? Guess I'll have no choice but to get it, but if I can do something about it, I'll do it. Mowassa
I like it fine and have been using it since beta. I have found it to be as fast if not faster than any other browser on both of my systems ( amd atyhlon 64 3000 754 socket 1gb ddr ram. and a amd 64 x2 3800 on a 939 sockewt w/ 2 gb ram. also cox bb.at 5 mbs . H ave found no real problems with it . I usually run security at med . but also have hardware firewall and win firewall in ops. I also use fire fox 2.0 and like it as well but find them very comparable.
That is the only reason why I can see why you would like this update. I had all kind of glitzes as time went on and probably won't be doing anymore security updates if it will force me to download 7. My computer is fairly new and has 1 gb of ram.with an Intel Pentium processor 1.7 GHz 796 MHz I always do the spyware scan regularly and run the antivirus the same way. 6 works great and I have no need to upgrade to 7. I am also running my security levels at medium and use Zone Alarm firewall instead of the Windows. I finally realized that I needed to restart my computer in order for Explorer 7 to show up in the add/remove list. I really enjoy the features that Firefox offers and trying to be the same as them to keep up with the Jones is not worth the effort that they have done. I had used it for around 10 days and could find no redeeming features to this program.
Microsoft's attempt to provide an improved Internet Explorer in IE7 is to me a failure. Why?
The end user is firmly tied down to using the icons and symbols in the menu bar as the designer set it up, suitable to him/her or them- whoever created it and to not-a-lot-of other users.
It is a merry go round to add/remove items to the tool bar, chasing for items like searching for a needle in a hay stack: to hide ''history'' favourites, etc under an orange star is a backwards step. They shoud be items the user can add or remove at will. One should be able to shift the menu bars and stack them the way you want to and not the one and only fixed way.
If in fact this can be done, I have not found how. It must be one of the best kept secrets ever.
In conclusion: It is ''prettier'' (quentionably) than IE6. but not much else.
I use Firefox. I stop using IE years ago. Mozilla or Opera 9 is the way to go. Don’t waste time with IE anymore, they’ve had their day in the sun, now the party’s over. It’s only fair, right? What comes around goes around. “Netscape” anyone?
I had a message waiting this morning. There was down load waitinf. Went to check the down load, "IE 7" started. Was not able to stop the down load. Spent 1.5 hours with MS to cure. Let it happen, then refuse legal.
Use disk Clen up to eliminate. They did not have an answer how to stop the notification, or stop the force.
Using XP2 SP2, Firefox 2. Hope this helps .
Sucks that it is not supported for the mac ownwer-operators.

At first I loved it but starting today it's running very slow and I have tried all the cache and cookie clearings, run virus and spyware. I do have Firefox as my email browser. Do you think that is the problem?
How do I get IE 7 for my yahoo mail provider?
Windows XP sp2. What else do you need for information?
I'm a novice but know enough if asked.
I liked the update to IE 7, but I had to go back to IE 6 because some of the websites that I use were not compatible with the newer version. Maybe I will be able to go back in the future.
I've been using IE for as long as I've had internet access. To cut to the chase, IT GETS THE JOB DONE. I don't have time to play silly little "who's browser is better" games. When I want to get online I click on the desktop icon, and boom I'm on. End of story.
I can hardly believe that Microsoft would call this browser “new and improved” version of IE6……. what garbage! It does look streamlined but the interface is awful. I use both Mac’s and Pc’s and they should follow what Apple has done with their look in the OSX. Something that would excite the user! After downloading this update that came to me in the form of a security update; my wireless settings changed and I could no longer access the internet. A page came up that says the internet can’t be found but they will run a diagnostic network evaluation and find the problem. What they forgot to mention was
“THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY THEM” Do your self a big favor and pass on the temptation to download this browser until they figure out what the bugs are instead of making us test pilots and thinking we will fix what’s wrong!!
While IE 7 mimics firefox in style, it has a couple of other little features that I think are very nice: the thumbnail option for web pages is very graphically pleasing and useful if the titles on the tabs are similar, the favourites section has been spruced up and is still highly accessible and user friendly, the print page option is FANTASTIC, as if the RSS feeds buttons. I agree with another user, however, that it is annoying (and crazy!) to have refresh and stop located away from back and forward arrows, I can only assume this decision was taken to be aesthetically pleasing.
All in all, I love it! (even though I KNOW it's very derivative of firefox!)
