I have a presario 4600 with an AMD processor running XP Home. Anywhere from two seconds to 20 minutes when I start my computer, it will, within a flash, re-boot by itself.
I've tried a new power supply, nope! I have not lost any data. It just goes off and back on superfast and starts. Anybody out there know what's going on???
Thanks, Andy
Since this is XP, you'll find notes and people discussing this in the XP Forum. Ask about how to change the Reboot on error and how to look for the Event Viewer.

Is your OS fully patched against the Blaster Worm?
See these links:

Try operating with the case open and blow a fan into the CPU area in case it's a heat issue.
Make sure all your fans are working and not clogged by dust.
